What is Discovery Clubs of Alabama?

A non-profit organization that takes the Bible and Gospel into public schools. It is a non-demoninational church-related evangelism.

How did Discovery Clubs begin?

John, Glasser, a retired lawyer has a deep love for children. Years ago, he founded Better Basics, a program using staff and volunteers to help public school children learn to read. A dedicated Christian, John wanted the children not only to learn to read, but to know Jesus as their Savior, thus he founded Discovery Clubs of Alabama at the age of 87.

Where and when do the clubs meet?

Clubs meet in the school classrooms after school. clubs last for one hour each week for 23 weeks.

Are Discovery Clubs legal?

Yes. The US Supreme Court ruled in 2001, in the case of Good News Clubs vs. Milford Central Schools that the Good News Clun can meet in public schools after school hours on teh same terms as other community groups.

How many schools now have Discovery Clubs?
